[Men's Cross Country] Montague Runs Season Best

Comments

Parkside, WI - IIT men's Cross Country Team competed at the University of Wisconsin's Dannehl Cross Country course. Illinois Tech finished 16th out of 24, in a deep field representing all collegiate divisions with most of the schools members of the NCAA DI and DII. "This course will be the site for the NCAA Division II Midwest Region and the Big East Championships later this season.  Some of the schools that will be part of those competitions were at the start last Saturday, and that raised the competition level. It was great for our guys to compete against some well-established programs."

Ethan Montague crossed the line in 89th place and turned in a season best performance by completing the 8 km in 28:11. Next for IIT was Phillip Cano, 91st in 28:17. Andrew Montague, Landon Vowels, and Peter Lau all finished within the top 100.

University of Windsor (Canada) scored 47 points and won the overall team title, followed by NCAA Division II Ferris State and Hillsdale University.

The team will return to action at University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh Brooks Invite on October 19.
