[Women's Cross Country] Tech Women's Cross Country Runs A 6k in the Wheaton InvitePublished by
Wheaton, IL - IIT cross country competed this past Saturday at Gill Dodds Invitational, hosted by Wheaton College. Courtney Rouse was the top performer for Illinois Tech, 16th place overall, covering the 6 km in 23:49. Anne Crotteau turned in another great performance, 19th in 23:56. Sara Glade was next for IIT to cross the finish line, in 31st. Greta Zola, in 50th place and April Wanagas, 58th, rounded up the scoring five. With this performance, Scarlet Hawks finished the day in 5th place, in a 12 teams contest. Washington University (MO), ranked 25th in NCAA DIII National Poll this past week, won the event with 27 points, followed by Illinois Wesleyan and Wheaton College. "Our girls ran well today, I'm pleased with a top 5 finish here. We usually race 5 km, but with the change in Divisions we will have to adjust. We are a stronger team at the end of the day, and that was our goal." said head coach Calin Hantau. Next race is the night run at College of DuPage Invitational on Friday September 27th.
