KANSAS CITY, MO. - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced the 2012 Women's Cross Country All-Americans on Monday. The top individual finishers at the 33rd Annual NAIA Women's Cross Country National Championships held Nov. 17 at the Fort Vancouver National Historic Site in Vancouver, Wash., were bestowed with the accolade. Abby Jahn of Illinois Institute of Technology was named to that list. Illinois Institute of Technology had two outstanding Female runners this Fall and both earned an invite to race in the National Championships against the best in Vancouver, Wash. Sophomore Abby Jahn (Wasilla, Alaska) rose to the occasion and finished in the top 30 against a total of 320 runners participating. Jahn with that finish added some heavy hardware to her collection.

Not only did Abby earn the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Women's Runner of the Week (3) three separate weeks this Fall but was named the CCAC Runner of the Year after running and winning the CCAC Conference Championship meet on November 3^rd at Dellwood Park.  She posted a school-record time of 17:33.76 to win the 5K race.  She used a late charge to surpass the rest of the 115-person field in capturing her first individual league crown edging out University of St. Francis' Hilary Halford by three-tenths of one second, 17:33.76 - to - 17:34.13.

Congratulations also go out to fellow Scarlet Hawk Sophomore Courtney Rouse (Midland, MI) who placed 63^rd overall at Nationals. Rouse, also was named to the 2012 CCAC Women's Cross Country 1^st Team All-Conference with her stellar finish at the CCAC Conference meet on November 3^rd.

These two young ladies just in their Sophomore seasons here at Illinois Tech have set the standards high and we cannot wait to see them in 2013.
